MTE 2025 Day One: Grand Opening Ceremony, Exhibition and Judging Session - February 20, 2025

The first day of Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2025 was officially launched with a solemn opening ceremony, followed by exhibition and judging sessions that ran from 9 AM to 5 PM Kuala Lumpur time. The entire event took place in an expo arena filled with creative booths showcasing various cutting-edge technological innovations.

The opening ceremony began promptly at 9 AM with remarks from the organizing committee and a symbolic ribbon cutting that officially marked the commencement of MTE 2025. Following the opening ceremony, visitors and judges could immediately explore the various innovation booths prepared by the participants.

The judging process began immediately after the opening ceremony, with judges divided into several panels to evaluate projects entered in the competition. Throughout the day, from 9 AM to 5 PM, judges moved from one booth to another to assess innovations, conduct Q&A sessions with participants, and witness product demonstrations firsthand.

"Smartely," an innovative smartwatch specifically designed for the elderly, received special attention from the panel of judges. Dr. Hadyan Hafizh, the lead judge, highly appreciated this innovation. "Smartely demonstrates a deep understanding of elderly needs. The simple yet effective health monitoring features and emergency notification system are highly relevant to the challenges faced by seniors today," said Dr. Hafizh.

Mr. Datok, the second judge, was also impressed with Smartely. "This is a perfect example of inclusive technology that considers the special needs of the elderly. The user-friendly interface and easily accessible emergency button show that this team truly understands their users," he added.

The exhibition was attended by hundreds of visitors who toured more than 200 innovation booths across various categories. The exhibition hall was divided into several thematic zones showcasing innovations in healthcare, agriculture, renewable energy, and information technology. Visitors appeared amazed by the live demonstrations from participants showing the workings and benefits of their innovative products.

For a full eight hours, from 9 AM to 5 PM, the expo arena was filled with the spirit of innovation and collaboration. Participants maximized their time to present their products to the judges and answer questions from curious visitors.

The first day of MTE 2025 concluded exactly at 5 PM with an announcement that judging would continue on the second day, followed by the announcement of winners from various competition categories at the closing ceremony.
